About Secular Homeschooler

This online and quarterly print literary magazine is for home educators, by home educators. 

Secular Homeschooler is all about providing a robust set of resources and now our magazine will offer a voice to the new generation of homeschooling families. We’re looking for the words, art, and photography of families and experts from a wide range of backgrounds, lifestyles, and experiences. 

Our vision is centered on real science, proven history, and free thought, but just as importantly, community, compassion, and inclusion. 

We’re here because we believe in the power of truly secular education. When a child is encouraged to approach the world around them with unbounded curiosity, measured skepticism, and unwavering compassion, beautiful things are bound to happen.

Submission Details:

• Please include a small cover letter with a 2-3 sentence bio and any affiliated links along with your submission(s).
• 500-1,000 words is the preferred resource review length. 800-2,000 words is the preferred article length.
• You can submit based on upcoming publication themes or not. Submissions will be considered for both our online journal as well as our quarterly themed print publications. We cannot guarantee that an approved piece will make it into either one specifically. 
• If submitting art or photography, please note it in your cover letter and use the file uploader.
• You will hear back from our team within one month of submission.
